Quality Engineer - Weekends (Onsite)
Pratt & Whitney is a leader in aerospace manufacturing, seeking a Quality Engineer to support the shop floor operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems, conducting inspections, and improving manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
Work under indirect supervision and select from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks
Conduct overrides
Support and guide inspectors with QN processing
Check, progress, and correlate accurate build and inspection records
Provide logistical support to requests through the Quality Lab
Review and approve work instructions
Perform assignments involving planning and execution of a project of limited scope or a portion of larger, more diverse projects (with engineering guidance) relating to new equipment introductions, new product launches, or new process methodologies
Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by identifying, resolving, and escalating problems, determining system improvements and implementing changes
Assist engineers with data collection and analysis, design of experiments, qualification and special projects
Works with engineering in root cause analysis, and definition and implementation of short- and long-term countermeasures
Improve manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes to reduce and prevent defects and prevent quality escapes to our customers
Develop and deliver technical training to the inspection and operations teams
Comply with and support health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures
Perform Other duties as assigned Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by identifying, resolving, and escalating problems
This position is for Weekend Shift i.e. Alternate Work Week (AWW): Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30AM - 6:30 PM
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' experience in a quality discipline; or AS Technical Degree in related field with 4+ years of related experience
Understanding of metrology ability to use measuring tool, e.g. calipers, dial indicators, linear scales
Ability to learn new measuring techniques
Basic Computer Skills –Microsoft Office packages; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Ability to stay on task and make an informed decision
Capable of thinking methodically and creatively
Detail oriented and dedicated to accuracy
Ability to read and follow directions, operation standards, and interpret drawings
Ability to work independently or within a team and minimal supervision
Flexibility to work overtime
Preferred
Engineering degree (aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, quality)
Understanding Pratt & Whitney's Quality Procedures, Quality Management Systems and experience using CORE tools
Experience with Solumina and SAP software
Demonstrated effective root cause determination skills, Red-X, Fault Tree, etc
Experience in aerospace machining, forgings, castings, or composites
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety requirements
Experience establishing and maintaining a quality management system, ideally AS9100
