They are seeking a Principal Data Analyst to gather, clean, and validate data, perform statistical analysis, and develop reports and dashboards to inform business decisions.

Responsibilities
Gather, clean, and validate data from a variety of sources to ensure its accuracy and integrity
Perform detailed statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Work with business units to understand data needs and provide analytical support to improve organizational processes
Write and maintain SQL queries, scripts, and data pipelines to automate reporting and data extraction tasks
Track key performance indicators and assist in the development of performance dashboards aligned with agency goals
Help define data standards, ensure governance compliance, and document data processes
Automate repetitive tasks using tools like Microsoft Power Automate, PowerShell, Python, and other technologies
Provide training and support for staff on analytical tools and automation workflows
Work on integrating automation and analytics workflows with existing systems like Microsoft 365, Asana, and other business applications
Stay up-to-date on new data analysis methods, automation tools, and industry best practices to continuously improve processes and tools
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI
Strong ability to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights
Familiarity with statistical programming languages such as Python or R is a plus
Ability to translate complex business problems into data solutions and communicate findings to a broad audience
Experience with data warehousing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes is preferred
Experience with task automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, PowerShell, or Python) is a plus
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, providing data-driven support to meet business needs
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data in an easily digestible format
Strong analytical thinking with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions
Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently, ensuring progress and deadlines are met efficiently
Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
