Direct Counsel is partnering with a leading California law firm seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to support its Labor and Employment Group. The role involves working closely with attorneys throughout all stages of federal and state court litigation, managing cases, drafting legal documents, and providing support for depositions and hearings.

Responsibilities

Proactive case management from inception through post-trial or settlement
Drafting, reviewing, and revising legal documents
Maintaining case files and discovery logs
Managing document productions
Supporting deposition and hearing preparation, including exhibit organization and witness outlines
Cite-checking briefs for legal and factual accuracy
Coordinating document review
Partnering with the Litigation Support Group on database management using iPro or other eDiscovery platforms

Required

Ability to work and bill as a paralegal under California Business & Professions Code § 6450
Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program and a minimum of five years of paralegal experience in a California law firm or in-house legal department (bachelor's degree preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365
Experience with iPro or comparable eDiscovery software, and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI
Strong legal research skills, with experience using Westlaw (preferred) or Lexis
Thorough understanding of legal procedures, rules of court, and local rules
Hands-on eDiscovery experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards and strict confidentiality
