Responsibilities

Calibrate and repair test equipment related to AC/DC circuitry
Must be able to read electrical schematics
Work under minimal supervision and perform a variety of highly complex technical tasks which require a substantial understanding of engineering techniques and all technical objectives
Utilize effective communication and provides technical recommendations for capital, expense, and service acquisitions
Works from minimal documentation or written or verbal instructions
May assist engineers with design and development of new calibration processes
Maintains a monthly/weekly workload of calibration and repair
Support on-site calibration and repairs as needed at various surrounding sites
Work with various electrical and mechanical test equipment
Applies significant electronic theory to configure, model, layout, prototype, build, test, troubleshoot, determine solutions and modify electronic products for engineering efforts applicable to the department

Required

Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post–high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Educational or professional background in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), or equivalent technical training
Strong knowledge of electronic circuitry and troubleshooting skills
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred

Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one
Experience with AC/DC equipment such as multi-meters, calibrators, etc. preferred
Excellent communicator both written and verbal
Ability to troubleshoot and repair off prints, or written work instructions
Must have good time management skills and work from a weekly/monthly to-do list and be able to re-organize if priorities suddenly shift
