UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training at UMIAQ Design who is interested in gaining practical experience in the design and management of rural water and wastewater utility systems. The role involves working under the guidance of Professional Civil Engineers and contributing to various infrastructure projects throughout Alaska.

Responsibilities

Work under the direction of a Professional Civil Engineer, with increasing responsibility based on performance and demonstrated capability

Assist in the planning, design, and construction administration for capital improvement and expansion projects of community water and wastewater facilities and systems

Support utility operators and administrators with operational engineering solutions addressing water and wastewater facility and system maintenance issues

Conduct site visits and field investigations to support project planning and design

Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and external consultants throughout project development

Prepare design and construction documents across all project phases

Support the bidding process, including development of bid documents and contractor coordination

Provide construction administration services and assist with project closeout
