Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with R&D staff with developmental research, analysis of technology and engineering options, project design, testing, formulating conclusions, data collection and analyzing experimental results
Develop models for specific energy systems
Apply models to analyze specific energy systems
Analyze data from experimental testing related to specific energy systems
Apply total systems models for hybrid energy systems

Required

Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited undergraduate program
Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
U.S citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S

Preferred

Currently attending and enrolled full time (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited science, engineering, or math undergraduate program at one of the following CHRES partner universities: University of New Mexico, University of Texas - El Paso, Universidad Ana G. Mendez - Gurabo, and Universidad de Puerto Rico - Mayaguez
General knowledge of research principles and processes
Understand the use of a variety of research tools
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to contribute as part of a team
General knowledge of project management
General knowledge and good understanding of a suite of software, including Microsoft Office
Strong technical skills within their degree discipline
Ability to develop and present ideas and results in oral and written form
