Technical Assistant - Biomedical Engineering
The University of Houston is seeking a Technical Assistant in the Biomedical Engineering department. The role involves providing assistance in research activities, including data collection and analysis, while supporting ongoing research in the Cardiovascular Tissue Engineering laboratory.

Responsibilities
Provides assistance and expertise in various areas of research such as preparation of results for presentation, monitoring test subjects, gathering and entering data, ensuring adherence to procedures, and basic analyses of data
Ensures experiments are performed according to specifications
May make practical recommendations to changes in procedures as appropriate
Applies advanced skills
Varied and Non standardized duties
Performs advanced functions and copes independently with new or complex situations
Receives minimal supervision. May orient, guide and/or train employees
Responsibilities include but are not limited to administrative support (ordering, inventory, budget), cell culture, experimental assessments, animal husbandry, dissections, imaging, personnel training, equipment operation and limited maintenance, device fabrication, and data collection and analysis
The candidate will also be responsible for providing reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree with 0 years of experience
Experience will be considered in lieu of education
Education will be considered in lieu of experience
Ability to provide assistance and expertise in various areas of research
Ability to ensure experiments are performed according to specifications
Ability to make practical recommendations to changes in procedures as appropriate
Ability to apply advanced skills
Ability to perform advanced functions and cope independently with new or complex situations
Ability to receive minimal supervision
Ability to orient, guide and/or train employees
Ability to support ongoing research in the Cardiovascular Tissue Engineering laboratory
Ability to provide administrative support (ordering, inventory, budget)
Ability to perform cell culture, experimental assessments, animal husbandry, dissections, imaging, personnel training, equipment operation and limited maintenance, device fabrication, and data collection and analysis
