Responsibilities
Interpret NAV Statements: Review and reconcile Net Asset Value (NAV) statements from underlying funds to ensure accurate tracking of valuations, capital account balances, and performance metrics
NAV Packages: Initial reviewer of monthly and quarterly financials received from our fund administrator (NAV Consulting)
Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts for all cash flow activity (capital calls, distributions)
Capital Calls & Distributions: Support the planning and execution of capital calls and distributions, ensuring correct allocation of amounts to each investor based on commitment levels and fund structures, and ensure accuracy of fee calculations
Data Management & Review: Work across a wide range of funds with varying accounting methodologies and fee structures. Verify commitments, allocations, and cash flows to ensure data integrity and prepare clean handoffs to third-party accountants and tax providers
Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate investor records and support the preparation of reporting packages for investors and external service providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory and tax requirements
Process Improvement: Collaborate with the operations and technology teams to refine internal processes, enhance data workflows, and increase efficiency in the management of SPVs
Triage of Fund Admin Information Requests: Act as the key point person for our fund administrator to triage information requests and to be the front–line for reconciling and adjusting data
Qualification
Required
Solid background in fund accounting for private equity, venture capital, or alternative investments
Strong understanding of NAV statements, capital calls, distributions and fund accounting principles
Ability to maintain in-house records for commitments, capital calls, distributions, and fees
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills
Ability to manage sensitive financial data with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial systems
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with investors, internal teams, and third-party providers
Strong conceptual understanding of the space and the ability to translate new findings into tactical solutions
Ability to triage and escalate important findings early and autonomously
Analytical mindset and ability to work with complex financial data
Proactive problem-solving and process improvement orientation
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Strong sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables
Preferred
Experience with investment management software and AirTable a plus
