IT Analyst - Level 1 Developer

Responsibilities

Follow agreed-upon application development best practices
Use existing frameworks and tools to develop application code
Troubleshoot problems with existing application code
Analyze and prototype technical solutions
Develop and deploy application features and bug fixes according to technical specifications
Write clean, well-factored code
Write test cases for application code
Contribute to system documentation
Follow established source control and deployment practices to help ensure reliable product releases
Participate in any of the phases of the software development lifecycle as requested
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Participate in OASIS Application Development firewatch pager rotation
Provide level 3 application support
Troubleshoot application problems

Required

No experience required beyond the minimum education (or equivalency) requirement
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong communication skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
A “can-do” attitude
Working knowledge of Agile Methodologies – Kanban, Iterative Development, Spikes, SCRUM
Object-oriented programming
Languages – Ruby, JavaScript, XML, HTML, JSON
Web Technologies – Rails, Apache, AJAX, REST, SOAP
Automated Testing – Cucumber, RSpec, WATIR, Continuous Integration Frameworks
Databases – Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
Operating Systems – Windows, Mac OS, Linux
Source Code Management – Git
DevOps – Docker Containers, CI/CD processes

Preferred

Direct experience using object-oriented programming languages
Developing web applications
Developing web services
Back-end infrastructure for mobile applications
