Senior Systems Engineer (Onsite)
Collins Aerospace is a leader in aerospace technology, and they are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their design engineering team. This role focuses on providing technical support for the integration, verification, and validation of mission-critical products, while also assisting manufacturing and production teams with testing challenges.

Responsibilities
Provide technical support to the design engineering team and assist manufacturing and production teams with addressing specific challenges related to the testing of power and actuation systems
Understanding technical requirements and derive requirements for the test environment as needed
Support software team through identification and development of utilities for analyzing data and expediting failure resolution
Diagnose electrical failures or issues within the test environment and test equipment
Take a lead role in managing engineering tasks for specific initiatives, ensuring timely progress and completion while maintaining alignment with project goals
Maintain and update a dashboard to track current test support activities handled by the Systems and Electrical team, including task statuses, progress updates, and resource requirements
Communicate progress updates, milestones, and estimated completion timelines to stakeholders for engineering-only initiatives
Develop detailed test manuals, troubleshooting flowcharts, and technical documentation to guide production and engineering teams
Assist with failure investigations by leveraging root cause analysis tools and implementing corrective actions
Read, interpret, and create engineering prints and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and production efforts
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions aligned with team objectives and operational goals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address recurring issues and improve troubleshooting and documentation processes
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Proficiency in automated test systems, such as LabVIEW or similar tools, is required
Electrical circuits, test and measurement equipment integration and troubleshooting experience
Experience with requirements management databases, i.e. – DOORS for requirements management and linking requirements to test procedures
Experience maintaining dashboards or similar tools to track task progress and identify resource needs, and communication to stakeholders
Familiarity with failure investigation methods, including root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA)
Ability to read and produce detailed engineering prints and technical documentation
Preferred
Proven ability to take initiative and lead engineering tasks
Strong organizational and process-oriented skills with a focus on creating clear, actionable documentation
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage tasks and coordinate efforts across teams
A proactive mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership for assigned initiatives
Experience in the operation, test, and troubleshooting of power and actuation systems
Development of integration, verification, and validation planning documentation of integration and test plans, procedures, reports, status reports, and other related documentation
Experience in programming C/C++, Python, or other programming languages. Experience with DevSecOps/TDD/BDD; Security+
Experience with automated test scripting and automated data analysis
