Accountant
SyWest Development LLC is seeking a Temporary Real Estate Accountant to support the month and year-end close process, as well as the annual budgeting process. The role involves managing accounts receivable functions and preparing financial statements while maintaining property management software and interpreting leases.

Responsibilities
Work a flexible schedule ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, based on business needs
Full responsibilities for assigned properties including Accounts Receivable functions
Perform month end close process, including but not limited to preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, performing variance analysis and issuing financial statements
Participate in annual preparation of budgets
Prepare annual tenant CAM budgets and CAM expense reconciliations
Maintain Property Management software, including input of new leases and updates
Interpret and review leases including verifying/reconciling lease abstract to the lease
Manage or assist with special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration
Minimum of 2 years accounting experience preferably
Ability to understand and interpret lease language
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong working knowledge of Excel
Able to work independently and with minimum direction once the task and objectives have been defined
Able to meet internal and external deadlines
Preferred
Experience with JD Edwards/comparable real estate accounting software is a plus
Experience with tenant CAM budgeting, billing, and reconciliation preferred but not required
