Associate Teacher (University Child Development Center)
The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an Associate Teacher for their University Child Development Center. This role involves supporting the Head Teacher in implementing an early childhood program, ensuring classroom safety, and maintaining effective communication with parents.

Responsibilities
Supports the head teacher with the development and facilitation of classroom programming and operations in a child development center
Maintains a safe classroom conducive to learning and engagement
Assesses children's needs and communicates effectively with parents
Guides support staff
Act as the Head Teacher in that teacher’s absence
Supervise staff and University students
Respond to parent/guardian inquiries and needs
Maintain 12 hours of professional development annually during their employment
Maintain all DHS regulations, NAEYC standards and Keystone STARS requirements throughout their employment
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree
1 year of verified experience with young children
HS diploma/GED AND 30 credits in a human service field
Maintain 12 hours of professional development annually during employment
Maintain all DHS regulations, NAEYC standards and Keystone STARS requirements throughout employment
PA State Police Criminal Record Check
FBI Criminal Record Check
PA Child Abuse History Clearance
