Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain automation systems for medium- and high-voltage substations
Configure and test RTU/PLC for protection and control schemes
Develop applications using IEC 61850 and other relevant communication protocols
Create and support control logic diagrams, network architectures, signal lists, and functional design documents
Prepare and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), including commissioning
Lead technical aspects of projects and guide team members
Serve as a primary customer contact for troubleshooting, commissioning, and technical support throughout the project lifecycle
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic/computer science engineering
4+ years of engineering experience in power automation for electrical substations
Project Technical Lead experience
Ability to read and fully understand DC and AC schematics, three- and one-line diagrams for Medium and/or High Voltage substations systems
Advanced knowledge of at least one of the automation products and associated software from vendors such as Siemens, GE, SEL or ABB
Communication Network Technologies, including Design and hardware configuration
Communication protocols such as IEC61850 (MMS/GOOSE/SMV), DNP, Modbus, IEC103, IEC101, IEC104, Profinet, Profibus
Substation Automation commissioning experience
Factory and Site testing experience in automation and control systems
Around 50 to 75% of travel is expected depending on project assignments and requirements
Preferred
Communication Network Technologies, including Design, Configuration, and troubleshooting of layer 2 and layer 3 capable devices for protection and automation applications with RuggedCom and Scalance products
Advanced knowledge in Siemens Power Automation products such as SICAM PAS, SICAM RTU, SICAM SCC
Experience with Power Automation engineering tools such as SICAM Device Manager, SICAM Toolbox, SIMATIC WinCC
Advanced knowledge in Siemens Industry Automation products such as SIMATIC PLC, TIA Portal, WinCC Advanced/Professional/Unified
Advanced Programming skills and experience with programming languages used in process and power automation such as C++, ST, LD, FBD
