Automation Engineer III

The Automation Engineer III is responsible for overseeing the discipline and managing the discipline budget on small to medium projects of limited complexity, coordinating with various stakeholders and managing multiple complex tasks.

Responsibilities

Interface with client and external partners
Plan and direct work and manage a project budget from a discipline design perspective on small projects of limited complexity required
Support proposal development under the supervision of a lead or senior engineer required
Identify basic non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys
Develop basic internal discipline design and engineering training presentations required
Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on intermediate projects of limited complexity and with little oversight required
Lead squad check and discipline check for small projects of intermediate complexity and drive overall project quality required
Provide mentorship to discipline Engineer I and/or Designer I and II required
Lead intermediate project system design programming and master planning with support from lead or Senior Engineer

Required

ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in discipline specific degree (ARE, ChemE, ME or EE)
Minimum of 5 years of experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in discipline specific software
Intermediate knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments
Intermediate experience with performing instrumentation and controls engineering calculations, and developing and implementing instrumentation and control system design
Intermediate experience with implementing fundamental design aspects of control system schematics, panel fabrication drawings, field wiring plans design
Intermediate experience reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
Intermediate experience with the electrical code
Intermediate experience with other applicable industry standards
Intermediate experience with applicable mechanical and building codes
Basic experience and knowledge with designing Safety Instrumented Systems
Proficient with intermediate internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination
Proficient with intermediate coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers
Proficient at intermediate list of discipline systems design calculations with limited supervision

Preferred

Fundamentals of Engineering Exam registration or completion
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
Basic experience with troubleshooting issues with discipline and systems
