8+ years expTalentsearchpro is seeking a SCOM SME / Enterprise Monitoring Tools Engineer – Level 3 to lead the migration of monitoring services from SCOM to Datadog. The role requires extensive experience with Microsoft SCOM and a strong understanding of monitoring concepts, alerting strategies, and reporting best practices.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full migration of monitoring services from SCOM to Datadog, ensuring a seamless transition
Assess and analyze existing SCOM configurations, management packs, custom rules, alerts, and dashboards to understand current monitoring landscape
Map SCOM monitoring requirements to equivalent Datadog features such as monitors, dashboards, alerts, and logs
Develop and implement a detailed migration plan that minimizes disruption to business operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution of migration activities
Document all migration processes, new monitoring standards, and post-migration support guidelines to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting during and after the migration phase
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in monitoring tools and technologies
Experience with scripting and automation related to monitoring tools
Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure monitoring (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Ability to train and mentor junior team members
Qualification
Required
Experience in Enterprise Monitoring tools like SCOM, Datadog
Experience is leading SCOM to Datadog migration or similar platform
Extensive experience with Microsoft SCOM 2016 and 2019, including management pack development customization, and alert tuning
Proven track record of leading monitoring migrations, preferably from SCOM to Datadog or similar platforms
Strong understanding of monitoring concepts, alerting strategies, and reporting best practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to work independently and lead cross-team collaboration
Preferred
Experience with Datadog monitoring platform is highly desirable
Relevant certifications in Microsoft SCOM or monitoring tools are a plus
Experience with scripting and automation related to monitoring tools
Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure monitoring (AWS, Azure, etc.)
