Assistant Professor of Old Testament/Hebrew Bible
Moravian University is seeking applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position within the School of Theology, beginning in Fall 2026. Responsibilities
Teach graduate courses in multiple modalities (on-site, online, hybrid, hyflex) in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament across multiple degree programs, including Biblical Hebrew
Supervise student academic and vocational progress
Support the mission of Moravian University School of Theology and cultivate interreligious and intercultural awareness as pertinent to the field
Produce peer-reviewed publications
Participate in professional and/or pastoral organizations and societies
Contribute to the institution’s commitment to serve students and constituencies from a wide range of religious and cultural contexts
Actively participate in service to the University through academic advising, committee membership, and/or mentorship of student clubs and organizations
Qualification
Required
PhD in Hebrew Bible, Old Testament, Religion, or a related field
Master's degree in Hebrew Bible, Old Testament, Religion, or a related field, and ABD in New Testament Studies, Religion, or a related field
