Assistant Branch Manager

Responsibilities

Provide direction to staff, allocating work duties in a clear, effective manner
Proven ability to plan, execute, and maintain effective retail sets
Strong analytical skills to identify products with high sales potential
Monitor employee work performance and productivity, providing useful feedback
Train new employees on required job components and provide ongoing training and development opportunities to existing employees
Assist in the employee selection process as assigned by the manager
Understand profit margins and how to maintain them while increasing sales
Identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and system enhancement
Track inventory levels and accuracy on all retail products
Direct the store safety program
Demonstrate quick problem solving in a professional manner
Willingness to work a flexible work schedule including weekends and holidays

Required

Prior experience in the building materials industry
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to plan, execute, and maintain effective retail sets
Strong analytical skills to identify products with high sales potential

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to recommend changes to drive business objectives
Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, making clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization
Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
High School diploma or GED required
