Power System Operations Engineer I
Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) manages the electricity superhighway in the Central U.S. The Power System Operations Engineer I will be part of MISO’s Real Time Operations group, responsible for learning to maintain the Energy Management Systems and ensuring reliable power flows while participating in projects for future operations.

Responsibilities
Train and hone your skills until you qualify and a shift position opens
Learn how to maintain the accuracy and availability of one of the most important Energy Management Systems (EMS) in the Eastern Interconnection
Train to be able to monitor inputs from ICCP, SCADA into the State Estimator
Provide study results that assist in making MISO the most reliable, value-creating RTO
Participate in projects that lead the way for the operations of the future
Qualification
Required
At least a Bachelor's degree in any of the following: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology
The ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule
Preferred
Experience in Utility, transmission operations, real-time operations, or a related field
Previous Energy Management System (EMS) experience
Transient/Voltage stability experience
Programming Experience in C, C++, VBA, Perl, Python
