SoundThinking is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead complex, customer-facing public safety software deployments and custom programs. This role demands a strategic thinker with a robust background in program management, direct customer engagement, and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of our customer software projects, with full ownership of every aspect of the delivery

Develop and maintain project schedule and plans, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with customer and business objectives

Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Support, to drive project success

Act as the primary point of contact for customers, managing expectations, risks, and escalations throughout the project lifecycle

Define and track key program metrics, ensuring on time and high-quality delivery

Oversee contract requirements, scope management, and change control processes

Implement best practices for risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication

Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the continuous improvement of deployment methodologies

Track and communicate project progress from a schedule, cost, and risk perspective to the project team, stakeholders, and management

Coordinate requirements gathering, design sessions, training, go-live events, and other meetings with both internal and external stakeholders

Meet at the customer site on demand and as necessary

Required

10+ years of experience in program or project management within the software industry, preferably in public safety, SaaS, or enterprise software deployments

Must be proficient in project forecasting and project accounting

Must be able to work with different resource managers, divisions, and individuals to ensure all project tasks are coordinated and executed on time and on budget

Strong understanding of public safety technology solutions and their impact on government agencies and communities

Experience managing large-scale customer projects with complex configurations and integrations

Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving successful customer outcomes

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Smartsheet, and MS Project

Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field

Requires frequent onsite meetings in the NYC Region

Ability to work at customer site, as needed

Leverage AI-enabled tools and platforms to improve project planning, execution, and reporting

Adoption of AI-based solutions within the project to enhance productivity, communication, and decision-making

Preferred

PMP, PgMP, or other relevant certifications are a plus
