Inside Sales Representative (Fort Wayne, IN)

Ottenweller Company, Inc. is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to facilitate communication with customers and ensure their needs are met. The role involves managing sales orders, coordinating with various departments, and providing support to senior sales representatives.

Responsibilities

Communicates with customer on daily basis to ensure objectives are understood and synchronized
Ensures shipping schedules match, resolves potential delays, alleviates issues with purchase orders; communicates with trucking company, performs follow-up on sales orders
Requests additional information on orders, blueprints, etc. as needed
Provides customer with information regarding related past-due information, daily shipments, quality issues, production schedule and reasons for delays, continuous improvement, schedule discrepancies, and capabilities
Communicates with other departments within organization to ensure shipments are on-schedule expedites parts, ensures purchased materials are on hand, ensures scheduling matches requirements, consults on quality issues
Provides clerical support and other assistance to Sr. Inside Sales and Outside Sales Representatives
Processes EDI information used to update customer releases for specified accounts
Reviews and processes new purchase orders/releases
Enters sales order information into computer system
Ensures pricing, quantities and due dates are correct
Utilizes computer system to sort information and link with proper customer orders
Continually monitors account(s) (in computer and on shop floor) to ensure correct quantities will be shipped on a timely basis
Prepares reports on forecasted sales orders, past-due production, component parts required, and weekly shipping goals
Visits customer facility to build relationship and broaden knowledge of product usage as well as to research additional services to offer the customer
Reports to Vice President of Sales any perceived situation that may threaten relationship with customer

Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
One to three years' experience preferred
Basic familiarity with machinery and processes involved in production
Basic blueprint knowledge
Proficiency with Windows-based computer system must be demonstrated prior to end of orientation period
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
