Responsibilities

Search for investment opportunities and purchase investments that meet Auto-Owners investment guidelines by reviewing company financial statements; industry, regulatory and economic information; financial periodicals; and brokerage firm research

Project cash flows by analyzing short-term investments, bond maturities, available funds, disbursement needs, anticipated cash receipts, and other appropriate sources of information

Invest available short-term cash according to Company investment guidelines

Monitor Company investments for potential or actual credit quality changes and take appropriate action

Monitor Company investments for acceptable performance as compared to expected returns and take appropriate action

Prepare investment purchase or sale recommendations, as applicable, for management review

Communicate with outside investment brokers and gather investment information and data for review with management for use in decision-making

Negotiate and execute investment purchase or sale orders with investment brokers

Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual reports for management

Required

Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in accounting, economics or finance or several years of related work experience

Above average communication skills (written and verbal)

Financial or investment experience
