NDT Inspection Services Technician Associate
RWE Clean Energy, LLC is one of the world’s leading generators of electricity from renewable energy sources, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2040. They are seeking a dynamic and motivated NDT Inspection Services Technician Associate to inspect, report, and perform preventative maintenance on blades in their North American fleet of turbines.

Responsibilities
Adhere to the Company’s values and behaviors as aspired by RWECE and Operations Vision
Assure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner consistent with policies and procedures established for the wind farm site. This includes wearing essential safety equipment, including a personal fall arrest system, as well as identifying potential hazards on the job
Pass physical fitness tests required to maintain Global Wind Organization Certification
Climb wind towers and access wind turbines to perform non-destructive testing and inspections
Lift, carry, and transport essential equipment, tools, and materials to job site
Support a team in performing Non-Destructive Test & Inspections on multiple turbine manufactures, including GE, Siemens, Vestas, Gamesa, Acciona, Nordex, and/or Mitsubishi
Ensure that all inspection and scan activities are accurately recorded and documented to identify the failure history, mean time between failures and root causes
Perform safety and other wind farm related tasks when assigned and fill in as back up to personnel at other RWE sites when necessary
Ensure proper storage, maintenance, and handling of all NDT equipment
Perform all other duties assigned as may be required from time to time
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
A minimum of 2 years of overall experience in operations and/or maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems. With one (1) of those years being in wind energy
All applicants must pass physical fitness tests required to maintain Global Wind Organization Certification; in addition, at the discretion of the business, future successful completion of physical fitness tests will be required
All applicants must possess an unrestricted driver's license in good standing
Demonstrated experience in blade damage assessment required
Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.)
Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day
Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools
Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures
Ability to work within tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned
Possess core competencies required to access, assess, and inspect significant structural (CAT III) blade damage
Complete time sheet and expense reports weekly
Ensure that all documentation is accurately and neatly completed
Assist in filling out daily inspection reports and documentation as required
Preferred
Associate degree in Sciences or related field from an accredited school preferred
A 2-year or 4-year college degree from an accredited school, other than correspondence or online, in a technical hard science (engineering, physics, power, or closely similar) may substitute for 2 years of experience. A current journeyman or master electrician license may substitute for 2 years of experience. An A&P degree or analogous military training, along with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on work experience, may substitute for 2 years of experience. A wind technician certificate program can substitute for 1 year of experience
GWO Certification
Training related to composite materials inspection and repair
Training related to non-destructive testing & inspections
Willing and able to obtain and maintain an RWE-sponsored NDT UT Level I & Level II if so requested by the company, for inspecting and scanning of our composite component equipment
Posses or willing to obtain and maintain an RWE-sponsored Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) 107a Pilot License if requested by the company, for inspecting our wind turbine generator blades
Certified ASNT NDT Level I UT certification
Certified ASNT NDT Level II UT certification
Training and coursework related to composite materials inspection and repair will be a plus
Training and coursework related to non-destructive testing & inspections will be a plus
Experience across multiple manufacturers (i.e., GE, Siemens, Vestas, Gamesa, Acciona, Nordex, Mitsubishi) and repair types strongly preferred
Experience with LPS systems
Experience in NDT UT techniques
