Regional Nurse Manager - Emergency Medicine

Responsibilities

Work approximately 30% clinical and 60% administratively as a Regional Nurse Manager
Provide medical care for Sollis’ patients with the supervision/direction of an attending Physician or Physician Assistant
Assess and treat patients which includes obtaining clinical samples, performing point-of-care testing, obtaining blood samples, providing general symptom management and recommendations within your scope
Perform medical procedures that include obtaining IV access, phlebotomy, administering vaccines, performing POC rapid tests, administering IV medications and fluids, and performing EKGs
Document patient information in our electronic medical record
Provide direct oversight of Registered Nurses and the care provided to patients in your region
Responsible for maintaining and tracking medication and vaccination inventory as well as general inventory and quarterly counts, in collaboration with Operations leadership
Help to develop and implement plans and schedules for fully staffing our nursing shifts, while minimizing the use of overtime and meeting the targeted budget and productivity goals
Accountable for Medbank management including reporting and quality control
Order medical supplies, vaccines and medications as needed for patient care and the function of the center
Partner with Operations to order and perform maintenance on medical equipment as needed
Ensure that all newly hired nurses in your region are fully trained and setup for success
Work with our Medical Directors and Operations Team to develop and implement process improvement plans, related to nursing functions
Initiate and participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality assurance and performance improvement activities, in collaboration with a Sollis Nursing Leadership Team and the Regional Medical Director
Develop monthly shift schedules and entering schedules into Sollis’ time tracking system
Participate in the interviewing and hiring of Nurse candidates for your region
Collaborate with your HRBP to manage any performance or HR related issues
Provide formal mid-year and end-of-year feedback direct reports
Observe, evaluate, coach and mentor nursing staff in your region, holding them accountable to Sollis’ standards for quality medical care and great customer service
Ensure standardization of practice through the implementation of current policies and procedures
Hold routine staff meetings and huddles focusing on patient care, safety and satisfaction
Be available by phone or in person for unexpected emergent situations or questions that arise from time to time
Promote optimal infection control and safety practices
Perform related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Must possess a valid license and current registration, issued by the New York as a Registered Nurse
Must have at least 2 years of leadership experience
5 years of emergency medicine nursing experience
Current ACLS and PALS required
