Responsibilities
Use AutoCAD system to produce complete fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings and/or graphics
Perform structural analysis on steel and aluminum frames
Translate engineering concepts into finished sign designs to effectively meet customer specifications
Incorporate principles for manufacturability, value engineering, and installation requirements
Create and maintain families of standard pylons, monuments and wall signs and other product commodities, using standard and special extrusions with cross-sections and details
Develop and revise engineering standard
Create and maintain Bill of Materials
Standardize components for ease of manufacturing and cost control
Assures compliance with approved methods and quality standards
Use creativity and latitude in product design and construction
Design product to maximize material yield and improve productivity
Inventory control through standardization of components
Provide technical support for sign site surveys and field installation problems
Stay abreast of new and evolving technologies through education, trade shows, and literature
Special projects
Qualification
Required
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes related to metal, plastic, vinyl, electrical lighting and construction principles for sign installation a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience in engineering and/or metal fabrication
Preferred
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field is preferred
Minimum two years experience in computer aided drafting (AutoCAD preferred)
