Academic Analyst

Responsibilities

Maintain student files, process, and/or authorize documentation, and communicate with advisors and deans on progress as needed
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, campus policies, and administrative regulations
Assist in analyzing student data and reports focused on new or ongoing initiatives
Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to advising
Review transcripts and other data to ensure students meet graduation requirements; including degree audits for Honors graduation
Participate in recruitment and enrollment activities
Prepare reports on students as required by administration
Assist with appropriate communication with students, faculty, etc. and documentation gathering to resolve referrals for student cases
Assist with Honors College events, including convocation and Medallion ceremonies
Assist in the coordination of the Honors College Medallion ceremony
Other duties/projects as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree required; one year related experience preferred

Preferred

Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and high degree of openness to new approaches and ideas
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of FERPA and ethical principles in working with students
Experience working with degree audits and/or advising
Experience working with Honors College students, staff and/or faculty
Fluency with technology (including experience with Banner, PeopleSoft, DegreeWorks, etc.)
Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations; ability to use initiative and resourcefulness in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements
