Responsibilities

Chemical Mixing & Blending – Accurate measurement and mixing of colors
Color Matching – Ability to match and adjust colors to meet specifications
Batch Processing – Preparing and managing batches according to formulas and production schedules
Quality Control – Inspecting and testing mixtures for consistency, color accuracy, and stability
Knowledge of Safety Protocols – Handling chemicals safely and following OSHA or local safety regulations
Basic Laboratory Techniques
Fork lift Operation
Complete tasks wearing required personal protective equipment which may include fire protective clothing, goggles, face shields, gloves, steel toe boots, hearing protection, respirators, etc

Required

Minimum of 1 years experience working as a technician, ideally Polymers testing experience, mixing or blending
Fork lift operation experience preferred
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a diverse set of cross functional groups
Proven organizational skills and ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to perform job with minimal direction from supervision and identify opportunities to develop self
High school diploma or GED equivalency
Willing to provide overtime coverage and work occasional plant call-outs
Willing to work with hazardous and/or flammable chemicals (with proper safety precautions, training, and equipment)
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to work in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
Proficient computer skills are required to effectively use requisite software applications
All candidates must pass pre-employment testing including a physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background check

Preferred

Fork lift operation experience preferred
