Principal Electrical Engineer

BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join their team in southern New Hampshire. Responsibilities

Design and troubleshoot digital, analog, mixed signal, and power CCAs for military electronics/avionics equipment
Lead electrical engineering designs, development, integration/test, and production of complex and dynamic military systems
Participate in requirements development, performing technical trade studies, and evaluating technology insertion/upgrades
Develop architectures for electronic hardware that leverage embedded processors, microcontrollers, and VHDL based FPGAs/SoCs
Develop and execute test plans, which includes the integration of test solutions, and provide detailed reports on test results
Knowledge transfer by mentoring junior engineering talent

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
6+ years (or 4+ years with MS EE) designing, testing, and troubleshooting high-reliability embedded systems
Demonstrated understanding of electrical principles, test methodologies, and the ability to work with advanced test equipment and cutting-edge technology
Demonstrated experience designing mixed-signal CCAs
Strong “hands-on” laboratory experience with instrumentation, equipment, and processes
Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance

Preferred

Competence in digital/analog/mixed signal electronics fundamentals and interface/communication standards
Knowledge and experience with FPGA design; memory interfaces such as DDR, QSPI; data transfer protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, JESD 204, I2C, JTAG, MIL-STD-1553; and experience in power supply (DC to DC) design
Experience with electrical engineering tools for design, schematic capture and analysis
Experience using Cadence tools for printed board assembly (PBA, PCB) design
Familiarity with design, analysis, and manufacturing standards associated with complex multilayer rigid and rigid-flex CCAs
Knowledge of engineering development processes for aero/defense industry, including designing and testing to MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461
A self-starter with Agile hardware development experience
Exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness
Control account management experience
Experience with LRIP / FRP, specially electronics manufacturing and test methodologies
Familiarity with AS9145 compliant processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Active DOD security clearance
