Leonardo DRS is a pioneer in mid-infrared laser light technology for government and commercial markets. They are seeking a Senior Technical Intern to assist engineers, contribute to projects, and gain exposure to the engineering process while being mentored by experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

Work closely with and assist engineers in various assignments

Code in C/HDL targeting microcontroller and/or FPGA platforms

Develop PC based Python scripting to communicate with the embedded FW platform

Debug issues, investigate possible solutions and present findings

Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the business

Conduct testing under the supervision of engineers; Testing may range from dedicated software testing on PC platforms to integrated testing of firmware suites on embedded platforms

Complete assigned tasks on time, gather and assemble data for engineers, may be required to help conduct research

Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers, assist engineers with appropriate design details

Interest in and experience with digital electronic circuits, programming and/or embedded systems

Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to build a good network

Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices

Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
