Responsibilities

Handle your own renewal placements and have opportunities to work alongside a senior placement broker to handle more complex risks and placements as well as new business opportunities
Develop and present a renewal strategy; ensure a completed submission and send to market; negotiate broad coverage terms; document all placement activities to ensure timely follow up by client, carriers and client team
Inspect the binding of coverage and is responsible for the accuracy of placement binders
Complete policy reviews and confirm policy language to support policy renewal process
Build relationships within your team, colleagues, insurance markets, clients, carriers and/or underwriters to provide cohesive client service
Consult management on complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and participate in development of solutions
Ensure client renewal transactions are compliant with our Client First Principles/ Standards and Best Practices
Assist in special projects within team
Consult with client executives and client teams to support client retention and new business production
Maintain a solid knowledge of market risk issues, insurance brokerage, account management, servicing and sales skills. Have a a detailed understanding of changing insurance and risk management market conditions

Required

Minimum 3+ years of Life Science insurance industry experience
Bachelor's degree required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and the ability to learn proprietary applications/databases
Ability to work in teams and cultivate relationships
Analytical thinker and problem solver
Intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset
Demonstrated leadership skills or has taken initiative within school, work and/or community
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced team environment
Strong ability to forge relationships
Attention to detail
Strong organizational/multi-tasking skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ideal candidate will be based in the NYM area and be in the office 3 days per week

Preferred

P & C licensed preferred, OR able to obtain within 12 months of employment
