HR Learning & Development Instructional Design Co-op Spring 2026

The Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development is seeking a motivated and creative Instructional Design Intern to join their team. The role involves assisting in the development of engaging educational materials and contributing to various projects aimed at enhancing learning experiences within an HR organization.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of instructional materials, including e-learning modules, lesson plans, and assessments
Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and transform it into engaging learning experiences
Support the review and revision process of existing instructional materials based on feedback and best practices
Participate in usability testing and gather feedback to improve learning outcomes
Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) to create interactive content
Conduct research on instructional design trends and best practices to inform project development
Help organize and maintain project documentation and resources

Preferred

Familiarity with instructional design principles and learning theories
Basic experience with authoring tools and multimedia design software is a plus

Creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
Coursework, experience, or project work related to instructional design, curriculum development, or adult learning principles
Experience creating presentations or educational content (e.g., through coursework, work experience, volunteer work, or personal projects)
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) or educational technologies
