Responsibilities
Define and evolve the technical architecture for trading platforms in partnership with engineering teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business priorities
Evaluate architectural trade-offs and present clear options, including cost, complexity, and delivery implications, to support sound decision-making
Establish objective performance and technical review processes to assess team effectiveness, identify constraints, and improve execution
Ensure engineering effort is focused on high-impact initiatives with measurable outcomes, avoiding unnecessary complexity or low-value work
Act as a bridge between business, trading, and engineering functions to translate requirements into actionable, well-scoped technical plans
Drive a culture of prioritization, pragmatic design, and continuous simplification across systems and processes
Qualification
Required
At least 5 years of experience in senior technical or engineering leadership roles within algorithmic trading or financial-markets environments, preferably on the buy side
Demonstrated ownership of system architecture and delivery for complex, production-grade platforms
Experience designing or overseeing end-to-end trading platforms, including components such as execution engines, connectivity, OMS/EMS, and market-data systems
A mindset focused on return on investment, efficiency, and outcome-driven development
Proven ability to manage technical performance and lead teams through data-driven evaluation
Strong communication skills and experience working closely with senior stakeholders in a distributed, remote-first environment
Broad exposure to multiple trading-platform architectures across asset classes or strategy types
