Responsibilities

Learn to operate, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment, including HPLC, brix testing tools, sensory materials, and grain analysis instrumentation

Perform routine QC analysis and accurately document results to support daily production needs

Troubleshoot testing inconsistencies and propose improvements to ensure data repeatability and accuracy

QC-driven projects will be assigned based on operational priorities and intern interest areas. Project areas include:

Grain analysis

Fermentation and Yeasting

Sensory Program Implementation

Analytical Correlation Work

Wastewater and Environmental

Cross-site collaboration between Bernheim and Springs

Prepare and present findings and recommendations to internal teams throughout the internship

Deliver a final presentation to the Executive Leadership Team summarizing your project work and key learnings

Participate in developmental workshops, networking opportunities, and cross-functional exposure events

Qualification

Required

Currently a junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Fermentation Science, Distillation Science, Food Science, or related field

Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

Curiosity and willingness to learn new scientific techniques, testing methods, and lab protocols

Ability to work independently with clear instructions and collaborate with operations and QC staff

Preferred

Laboratory or production experience preferred but not required
