CNC Setup and Operate - 2nd Shift

The CNC Setup Operator – 2nd Shift will be responsible for setting up and adjusting CNC lathes and milling machines, performing machine changeovers, and ensuring accurate part production in collaboration with the quality team.

Responsibilities

Set up CNC lathes, mills, and related equipment based on blueprints, job specifications, and setup sheets

Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, collets, and work-holding devices

Set and verify work offsets, tool offsets, and machine parameters

Perform first-piece inspections in coordination with Quality Assurance

Troubleshoot issues related to tooling wear, fixtures, offsets, and machine operation

Support CNC operators with machine adjustments and quality checks

Ensure machines run consistently following setup completion

Document setup information, quality checks, and production notes

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Qualification

Required

High school diploma or GED

Experience setting up CNC lathes and / or CNC milling machines

Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges and other precision tools

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents

Basic math skills

Knowledge of safety standards and company policies

Preferred

2+ years of CNC setup experience in a production environment

Experience diagnosing and replacing worn tooling

Knowledge of Lean/continuous improvement practices

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability

High attention to detail and commitment to quality
