Responsibilities
Lead the design, prototyping, and launch of advanced packaging machinery using SolidWorks and ePDM
Own the full mechanical lifecycle: concept, CAD modeling, BOM creation, testing, and field validation
Collaborate with electrical engineers on system integration, motor/sensor selection, and sequencing
Present and release design documentation for stakeholder review and production readiness
Support beta deployments and troubleshoot real-world performance issues
Analyze field feedback, competitive equipment, and emerging technologies to drive innovation
Engage directly with customers to uncover pain points and translate them into design opportunities
Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on coaching
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in machine design — packaging machinery preferred
Strong background in electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems
Hands-on prototyping experience in R&D or manufacturing environments
Mastery of SolidWorks, ePDM, and ERP systems for mechanical design and documentation
Deep understanding of part design, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles
Creative problem-solving mindset with a builder's mentality
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior engineering talent
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred
Experience with firmware, software, or data acquisition systems
Familiarity with paper packaging systems or materials
Prior use of tools, fixtures, and testing devices in development environments
Project leadership or cross-functional team management experience
