Technical Support Leader -Automation Systems

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Technical Support Leader for their Automation Systems team to support the operation of Automated Guided Vehicles in their manufacturing and distribution centers. Responsibilities

Lead and motivate the technical service team for GP’s automation technology systems team which will include scheduling technical resources to priority of work and continuous development of all-encompassing talent skill sets for the technical service team
Ownership of all internal and external aftermarket support issues for three different OEM technologies while meeting deadlines and incentives
Provide and understand corrective maintenance which includes root cause analysis
Use tools and data to predict/trend/track issues and provide feedback when improvements and changes are required to standard maintenance plans, spare parts and/or technology
Work collaboratively with other internal resources to complete identified opportunities to measurable results
Drive measurable/quick/effective results to keep our automated vehicle fleet in service to reduce manufacturing and finished good movement interruptions
Foster collaboration by creating a communication bridge between the technical service team, internal CoE team, internal site customers, executives, and vendors
Oversee and lead a diverse team within ever changing business priorities and ability to calmly resolve the occasional crises
Align the automation technical services team with organizational goals, optimize costs and drive continual improvements
Stay current with ever changing technologies and data reporting tools

Required

Demonstrated leadership of technical service teams with defined goals and outcomes
Proven ability to communicate technical information to diverse internal and external stakeholders
Practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, drivers, belts, and bearings
Experience performing operations, equipment maintenance, or manufacturing engineering tasks according to standards
Applied root cause analysis methodologies to identify and resolve technical issues
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills through documented examples
Experience working with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and automation equipment or documented ability to acquire these skills
Documented experience managing customer interactions and technical service support
Proficiency with computer software and systems relevant to technical service and maintenance activities
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
Based in Atlanta, GA or Green Bay, WI

Preferred

3+ years of technical service management
Experience applying Basic PLC knowledge & troubleshooting
Experience with maintenance and/or operation of Automated Guided Vehicles
Experience providing technical service across multiple locations
Experience with electrical safe work practices – NFPA 70-E Electrical Safety Standards
Strong ownership approach that is customer focus orientated with ability to prioritize and focus on urgency to achieve measurable results
