Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze budget performance, expenditures, and forecasts to identify trends and variances
Prepare and present detailed financial reports, budget summaries, and variance analyses
Assist in the development and execution of budget proposals and financial plans
Collaborate with departments to gather financial data and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements
Ensure compliance with the Federal budget process, appropriations law, and organizational financial policies
Utilize MS Excel and ITRAK for budget tracking, reporting, and data analysis
Support internal and external financial audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, mathematics, or a related field (coursework in economics and statistics is a plus)
3-5 years of experience in budget formulation, analysis, and execution
Strong knowledge of the Federal budget process and appropriations law
Proficiency in analytical thinking and data analysis
Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with iTRAK
Excellent attention to detail, strong mathematical and writing skills
Effective communication and time management abilities
Ability to pass a background screening with no outstanding derogatory information. This position requires a Public Trust
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred
Experience working with or in a government organization
Advanced knowledge of economic or statistical modeling techniques
Certifications in budgeting, finance, or data analysis (e.g., CBA, CFA, CGFM)
Familiarity with other financial management or accounting software
