They are seeking a PRN Cardiac Health Psychologist to work within a multidisciplinary team, providing psychological services to cardiology patients, including diagnostic evaluations and ongoing psychotherapy.

Responsibilities
Performing diagnostic evaluations and ongoing psychotherapy for heart failure patients
Conducting pre- and post-psychological evaluations for LVAD patients
Providing ongoing support for LVAD and advanced heart failure patients
Conducting annual emotional wellness visits with LVAD patients
Consultations for team members
“curbside” consults related to managing challenging patients
Crisis de-escalation
Assisting in addressing issues with team dynamics
Strategizing for program growth and system issues
Clinical and emotional debriefing and support meetings after the death of an LVAD patient
Qualification
Required
PhD, PsyD or EdD in clinical or counseling from an accredited college or university; required
Minimum of one year professional experience under the direction of a licensed psychologist or board certified psychiatrist, required
Valid license to practice Clinical Child psychology in North Carolina, required
Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations and APA standards as related to client treatment, patient rights and client/patient confidentiality
Preferred
Previous clinical responsibilities to include psychological testing, diagnosis, crisis intervention, brief individual and group psychological testing techniques, administration and interpretation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge, skills and abilities within multiple theoretical orientation
Patient centered focused
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team/medical setting
