Responsibilities
Reduce deployment pain: make releases simpler, safer, and faster through better automation, consistent environments, and strong CI/CD practices
Improve observability and on-call: strengthen monitoring, alert quality, and incident response so on-call is humane and effective
Formalize Infrastructure as Code (IaC): drive repeatability and change control for infrastructure and platform configuration
Introduce practical FinOps hygiene (visibility, ownership, guardrails, right-sizing)
Own and evolve our platform across AWS and on-prem compute environments (you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with our High Performance Compute team)
Reduce noisy alerts, define SLOs/SLIs where useful, and strengthen incident response practices (runbooks, postmortems, follow-ups)
Lead efforts to standardize operational workflows and reduce “institutional knowledge” dependencies across the team
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on DevOps/platform ownership experience, ideally having been the primary owner in a prior role
Deep comfort operating production public cloud systems: debugging, incident response, performance triage, and operational discipline
Practical experience improving CI/CD and deployment reliability
Fluency with cloud infrastructure (AWS strongly preferred) and containerized workloads (Kubernetes experience strongly preferred)
Security-minded approach, especially around identity and access management and SSO/SAML concepts
Ability to work independently with minimal hand-holding, while collaborating effectively across engineering
Preferred
Designing/implementing IaC at scale (Terraform/Pulumi/CloudFormation—whatever you've used, we care about principles and outcomes)
Compliance experience: SOC 2 evidence/control implementation and/or ISO 27001 familiarity
Cost optimization and operational metrics (FinOps, capacity planning)
Experience in finance-related environments or other regulated B2B contexts
