Responsibilities
Apply biochemical and biophysical analysis to paramyxovirus proteins and complexes critical for the life cycle of the virus with a special emphasis on henipavirus and (re-)emerging paramyxoviruses
Use reverse genetics to generate paramyxoviruses with relevant mutations that allow for structure-function analysis of viral replication, budding, or other virus induced sub-organellar complexes such as inclusion bodies or biomolecular condensates
Perform and teach protein synthesis/production techniques to other members of the lab
Partake in rotating lab responsibilities that contribute to a well-functioning lab
Join in all relevant intellectual activities of the lab and department
Proactively apply for eligible fellowships
Present his work at national and/or international conferences in consultation with the PI
Write and publish results in a timely fashion
Qualification
Required
PhD in an immediately relevant field
At least TWO first or co-first author publications from graduate work
Preferred
Research experience preferred, but less than 9 months since defending PhD
