Responsibilities

Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment in compliance with MSDE regulations
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff
Observe and document children’s progress and share updates with families
Ensure compliance with all licensing and health requirements
Participate in ongoing professional development and training

Qualification

90-hour Preschool Certification45-hour InfantToddler CertificationChild Development Associate (CDA)ADA TrainingBasic HealthSafety CertificateEarly childhood education courseworkBilingual skillsMSDE regulationsInterpersonal skillsCommunication skills

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of the 90-hour Preschool Certification approved by MSDE
45-hour Infant and Toddler Certification (required if caring for children under age 2)
Ability to obtain the following within 90 days of employment: ADA Training
Basic Health and Safety Certificate
At least 1 year of experience working with preschool or infant/toddler children OR 30 semester hours of college coursework in early childhood education or a related field
9 clock hours of approved training in communication with staff, parents, and the public
Commitment to ongoing professional development (minimum 12 clock hours annually)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with families and staff

Preferred

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
Additional coursework or certifications in early childhood education
Experience working with children with special needs
Bilingual or multilingual skills
Familiarity with MSDE regulations and licensing requirements
