Lab and Research Tech 2, Hematology & Oncology
The University of Virginia is seeking a Lab and Research Tech 2 in the Division of Hematology & Oncology. This role involves planning and conducting research experiments focused on genetically engineered cell lines, along with data analysis and laboratory organization.

Responsibilities
Conduct experiments – perform RT-PCR, DNA sequencing and Western-style analyses of human tissue samples
Data entry of data generated from experiments
Assist in laboratory organization
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree required; may accept equivalent combination of experience, education, certification in lieu of degree
2+ years of lab experience which may include student experience
None
Preferred
BA/BS degree with additional work experience
Work experience should include either work in a molecular biology laboratory or college-level course work in biology or molecular biology
Basic competency with Macintosh computers
Ability to work as part of a research team in a responsible, dependable, collegial manner although autonomy is permitted/encouraged for motivated individuals
Demonstrated proficiency in mammalian tissue culture & molecular biology
Previous work experience with radioisotopes
Strong organizational skills
