Responsibilities

Supports project team toward preparation of a professional, economical, and effective set of plans and specifications for each individual project

Conducts engineering computations to design difficult and complex engineering projects

Communicates directly with governmental/regulatory staff relative to design concepts and requirements. Represents clients at regulatory agency hearings or meetings

Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and reports regularly on project status to Project Manager

Monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications

Responsible for the design concept of the plans and specifications

Consults and advises field engineers, contractors, and inspectors regarding the construction phase of the project

Communicates with the Project Manager on project strategy and matters that may impact the outcome of a project

Assists in preparation of project proposals including scope of work, time schedule, and manpower estimates

Promotes new business for the total company and for own area of expertise

Qualification

Professional Engineer (PE) licenseHydraulic designBS in Civil EngineeringAutoCADMathematical skillsVerbal communicationWritten communication

Required

BS in Civil Engineering required

Professional Engineer (PE) license with a minimum of 6 years of related experience, with a strong hydraulic design background OR Registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) on track to attain PE license with a minimum of 10 years of related experience, with a strong hydraulic design background required

Sound mathematical skills are required

A working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD is required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required

Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work (Required)
