Loss Prevention Intern

Yusen Logistics is a key player in the logistics and supply chain industry, providing various services including freight forwarding and supply chain solutions. The Loss Prevention Intern will support the Loss Prevention team with administrative tasks, data entry, and compliance documentation, gaining hands-on experience in corporate security within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining accurate security incident reports and supporting Yusen’s Loss Prevention program through timely data entry and documentation
Perform data entry and updates for TAPA logs, SIM reports, and other compliance-related records to ensure accuracy and audit readiness
Support the Operations Team by monitoring and tracking TAPA Security requirements, ensuring all line items are addressed promptly
Review and update TAPA compliance documentation, including authorized entry logs and related programs
Compile and organize performance metrics, trend analysis, and provide recaps to leaders
Assist in reporting and documenting security incidents to identify vulnerabilities and support corrective/preventative measures
Conduct routine checks of CCTV functionality across facilities and log findings for management review
Provide administrative support for security assessments, evaluations, and investigations as directed by Loss Prevention Management
Collaborate with internal teams on delegated projects, ensuring timely updates and accurate recordkeeping
Maintain clear communication with all departments to support compliance and operational security needs

Required

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a full-time student (minimum of 12 semester hours)
Minimum of 60 credit hours
In good academic standing
Currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university leading to an advanced degree in a related field
In good academic standing
Demonstrate key traits including flexibility, assertiveness, approachability, and a consistently professional attitude
Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in high-stress situations while maintaining professional conduct
Strong team spirit with a collaborative mindset
Advanced professional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Proficiency in math and computer applications
Working knowledge of supply chain systems and operational processes
Availability to maintain a flexible schedule and support all shifts as needed

Preferred

Knowledge of TAPA and CTPAT compliance standards
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and engage with vendors, clients, and staff at all organizational levels
Majoring in Occupational Safety, Business, Logistics, Contract Logistics, Business Development, and/or Logistics Engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Extensive knowledge of Web usage, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
