$40/hr - $45/hrPTR Global is seeking a Linguist II to enhance data-based model and product improvements through linguistic expertise. The role involves developing labeling strategies and guidelines for visual and language data, ensuring high-quality standards in data labeling.
Responsibilities
Provide linguistic expertise, especially in the areas of syntax, semantics, taxonomies, and NLU
Develop strategies for labeling visual and language data together
Create guidelines in support of labeling projects that allow vendor labelers to consistently label language, visual, and motion data at quality
Analyze labeling quality and adjust guidelines as necessary to ensure labeling quality. Enforce labeling standards
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of syntax, semantics, and taxonomies
Ability to work in ambiguous space and develop norms and processes
Knowledge of prescriptive writing and punctuation conventions for at least one language
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Knowledge in transcription and annotation systems such as SAMPA, IPA and ToBI
Knowledge of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, corpus linguistics, and other areas of linguistics
Experience with SQL, spreadsheets, and other data tools
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Experience with data annotation or labeling
Programming SQL like to have Python experience
Technical writing skills
Design and conduct experiments for evaluating data quality
Bachelor's degree in linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, or related field
Preferred
Programming experience such as python, PHP, or JavaScript
