Responsibilities
Performs preventative maintenance and electrical safety inspections of clinical equipment, devices, and systems
Maintains documentation and inspects/tests all newly purchased, evaluation, demo, leased or rented medical equipment
Determines cause of problems or malfunctions of minor medical equipment
Orders supplies and parts for preventative maintenance activities and services
Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self- development and enhancement of professional competency
Performs other job functions as assigned or requested
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree Biomedical Engineering
Associate's Degree Electrical Engineering
Associate's Degree Computer Engineering
Extensive knowledge of clinical equipment
Exceptional analytical skills
Effective written and oral communications
Knowledge of and ability to apply highly technical principles, concepts and techniques in solving complex technical problems
Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as equipment manuals
Ability to communicate verbally with all levels of associates, physicians and equipment manufacturers and vendors
Demonstrates a logical and methodical approach in analyzing problems and troubleshooting
Demonstrates effective and correct use of hand tools
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles
Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment
Ability to organize tasks, set priorities and maintain control of workflow
Class D Driver's License Tennessee Motor Vehicle
Class D Driver's License Mississippi Motor Vehicle
Preferred
High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience in clinical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience (electronic engineering, computer, or related engineering experience) or Successful completion of the MLH internship
