Responsibilities

Maintain and manage standard cost data within the ERP system, including raw materials, ingredients, packaging, labor, and overhead
Ensure the accuracy of product costing through validation of BOMs, routings, and labor assumptions
Analyze weekly and monthly variances from standard cost and provide detailed reporting with root cause analysis
Serve as a daily presence on the production floor—observing processes, validating assumptions, and collaborating with operations, quality, and maintenance teams
Partner with operations to identify cost savings through waste reduction, yield improvement, labor efficiency, and other continuous improvement opportunities
Lead and manage the vendor claims process—documenting issues, coordinating with procurement and quality control, tracking claim status, and ensuring accurate financial treatment
Support new product costing, customer pricing, and marketing initiatives through detailed cost analysis
Assist in ERP system transitions, including data migration, testing, and go-live support
Monitor inventory control processes, support physical inventories, and ensure accurate accounting of obsolete or damaged goods
Contribute to weekly performance reporting, budget preparation, and capital spending analysis
Support lean manufacturing initiatives and drive accountability around key KPIs such as yield, downtime, and labor efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field plus 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment -OR- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience specifically in food or CPG manufacturing is a plus, but not required
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Deacom, etc.)
Proficient in Excel with strong analytical and data visualization skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong working knowledge of standard cost systems, variance analysis, and cost modeling
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work across departments
Comfortable spending regular time on the production floor as part of core responsibilities
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, process improvement, and root cause analysis

Preferred

Experience managing claims related to vendor performance, quality, or delivery
Ability to balance accounting precision with real-world operations insight
Demonstrated business acumen and initiative to drive process improvements
Clear communicator who can translate financial data into actionable insights
