The role involves directing transportation operations, ensuring products reach customers with 100% satisfaction, and managing a team within the traffic department.

Responsibilities

Ensure that all employees adhere to State and Federal DOT and company safety policies
Keep records, logs, and schedules of all the transportation vehicles and drivers that are monitored and controlled by the branch
Coordinate the movement of all inbound/outbound equipment and freight from point of origin to destination
Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations
Provide monthly branch reports as required
Responsible for monthly inventory of finished goods
Responsible for the purchasing resale finished goods inventory
Hire, train, and monitor all aspects of personnel in the traffic department
Maintain control of department expenses
Responsible for ensuring driver’s quarterly meetings are completed
Complete Purchase Requisition for any expenditure
Understand contracts and capital projects in the traffic, shipping, and receiving areas of responsibility
Work with vendors on equipment and personnel needs
Monitor all aspects of employee performance

Required

At least 5 years of experience as a transportation manager in a similar industry
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations

Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics
Good conflict resolution skills
Understand contracts and capital projects in the traffic, shipping, and receiving areas of responsibility
