1+ years expSunrock is seeking an experienced Utility Pipe Layer to support underground utility construction projects. The Pipe Layer is responsible for installing water, sewer, and storm drainage systems using various pipe materials, ensuring proper alignment, grade, and compaction.

Responsibilities
Install water, sewer, and storm drainage systems using ductile iron, RCP, concrete, PVC, and HDPE pipes
Set pipe to line and grade using levels, lasers, and grade references
Assist with trenching, bedding, backfilling, and compaction
Work with equipment operators to maintain trench safety and production flow
Cut, join, and seal pipe connections using approved methods
Identify and correct grade issues or alignment variances
Perform jobsite cleanup, material handling, and related labor tasks as needed
Follow all OSHA, NCDOT, and company safety procedures
Communicate effectively with crew members, operators, and supervisors
Qualification
Required
1+ years of experience installing utility pipe (water, sewer, storm)
Experience with ductile iron, RCP, concrete pipe, PVC, HDPE, or similar pipe systems
Ability to read grade stakes and understand elevations, slopes, and line/grade requirements
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Strong understanding of trench safety and safe work zone practices
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 75 lbs
Ability to work in trenches and around heavy equipment
Exposure to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and construction noise
Preferred
Reliable transportation; valid driver's license preferred
High School Diploma or GED preferred
