Responsibilities
Provide database support and administration for enterprise systems
Incorporate changes and updates to databases
Maintain database configurations and develop documentation
Perform query optimization, backup/recovery, and user access management
Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate databases with applications
Perform capacity planning and resolve incidents through root cause analysis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Database Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
6+ years of experience in database support and administration, with hands-on expertise incorporating changes/updates, maintaining configurations, and developing documentation in government or large enterprise environments
Proven track record managing relational/non-relational databases in secure, high-availability settings
Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
Strong knowledge of federal database standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA) and ITIL practices for service operations
Proficiency in database tools (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and documentation practices
Excellent analytical and communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration
Preferred
ITIL 4 Foundation certification
Experience supporting DoD or large federal databases, including integrations with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
Background in agile documentation (e.g., Confluence) and automation for updates (e.g., PowerShell scripting)
Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
