Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design solutions
Optimize and enhance existing systems to improve performance and reliability
Implement and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment
Explore opportunities to leverage generative AI to improve backend processes or enhance learning outcomes
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Required

5+ years of professional software engineering experience working hands-on in a product-oriented software engineering role, in live production code
Strong background in building scalable and low latency systems

Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
A genuine interest in using technology to enhance learning experiences and make education more accessible

Preferred

experience with Docker
